You can listen to the sound of ceramic janggos which were now disappeared in Korea!

The beautiful celadon glazes and exquisite workmanship of Korean ceramics were renown throughout the ancient world. So popular were these product that around 700 years ago, there were even "ceramic janggos" being made on Korean peninsula. These elegant creations were not merely decorative but were functional musical instruments. Today, only wooden janggos have remained and are used in contemporary music performance.

I wondered why these beautiful ceramic janggos had disappeared and how they must have sounded. So, I traveled throughout Korea and China on the quest to learn the history of ceramic janggos.

As the result of my study on how they were made and used, I began restoring ceramic janggos and began composing new music to play on them.
On this album, you can listen to the music I composed and arranged to reflect the memories of those journeys.
